This review is from: Kingston Digital DataTraveler 101 Generation 2 - 16 GB Flash Drive DT101G2/16GBZET (Personal Computers)
The Kingston 16GB flash drive does all I ask it to and does that well: store my data securely with none of the flaking fuss my MicroCenter flash drives gave me. I've had a history of the cheaper MicroCenter 16GBs flaking out unexpectedly, no longer being readable and losing the data on there. Suffice to say I have a history of backing up the contents of drives but I never want to risk ejecting a drive and it decides to no longer operate.
Though transfer times aren't lightning fast, the DataTraveler is respectably efficient. The built-in interface has surprised me when first using it on other computers, but I suppose that's nice software and the computers always recognize the Kingston by name. Even on my fussiest USB port, the drive always registers.
My only qualm is the little swivel cover, not a design I entirely care for. It's good not to lose a cover, which perpetually happens to me, but the swinging arc seems a bit flimsy. I don't feel like I always have purchase on the device, and I would really like an anchorage for a lanyard so it doesn't disappear into my backpack, laptop case, or purse.
For the money, a lot of space and a solid, reliable product are definite wins.

5.0 out of 5 stars inexpensive, works most excellently, holds a tonne of data, May 7, 2012

This thumbdrive works fine and holds a large amount of data for a very reasonable price. It is amazing to think that a mere 5 years ago, this sort of storage was unthinkable for a thumb drive and/or would have cost an arm and a leg. What a miracle it is to live in this age of high tech moving at the speed of warp/light!
